[AD] What Would You Use A Garden Room For?

December 17, 2020

When you move into your new home, it’s everything you have always wanted. It’s the right size, it has the right amount of bedrooms and it’s perfect. However, very quickly you can start to out grow what you thought was the perfect sized home.

When you moved in, it was most likely just the two of you and then as time passes by you decide to start a family and that’s when the space in your home that you thought you had lots of starts to feel a little bit cramped. Maybe you had one bedroom as an office that’s now become a nursery resulting in your office now being a little corner of the lounge.

This will all leave you with a decision to make. To extend your existing home or move to a larger house, but those are not the only options. A fantastic option that will mean you’re able to stay in the home you love is a garden room.

If you’re lucky enough to have a reasonably size garden then having a garden room that can have multiple uses is the perfect answer to solve any space problems in your home. It’s just deciding what type of garden room you want and what you want to use it for.

One particular company that can build and install bespoke garden rooms is Hawksbeck Garden Rooms, based in Essex

Why choose Hawksbeck when you are thinking of purchasing a garden room?

Firstly Hawksbeck take pride in building beautiful, bespoke, high quality garden rooms as well as garden offices and garden annexes.

They have spent years doing all the research and development to constructing garden rooms to the highest standard. Every Hawksbeck Garden room is constructed using a revolutionary material called SIP’s (Structurally Insulated Panels). These are stronger than traditional building method and they are better insulated. The insulation is in the ceilings, walls and floor, which means not only will it keep you warm in the winter, it will also keep you cool in the summer. They can be constructed in just a few days. They are signed off to building control standards and come complete with a 10 year warranty.  All Hawksbeck garden rooms are built bespoke to your requirements. Each and every Hawksbeck garden room has an average life expectancy of 60 years and because their garden rooms pass building control regulations they are able to be fully lived in, unlike other garden rooms.

If you are thinking of having a garden room built and installed in your garden, here are some of uses you could use it for.

1. Garden Room Gym

2020 has been the year when trying to live a normal life went completely out the window and one particular facility that has been closed for large parts of the year is gyms. This is when a garden room would be perfect to make your very own gym. You can kit it out with weights, a treadmill, rowing machine or whatever gym equipment you prefer to use, and you can keep up your exercise regime in comfort and if your gym is closed, you may very well end up cancelling your gym subscription and just use your very own personal gym in your garden.

2. Garden Room Office

Another change to our lives in 2020 has been how we work. With the spread of Covid-19 it’s meant that many people now work from home remotely. This can cause so many problems especially if your home is already full with your family so finding a quiet spot or room to have an office where you can work in peace and concentrate is almost an impossible task. A garden room is the perfect answer. You can go off to work as normal, but you are only going to the end of your garden. You will be in a lovely warm and comfortable room to do your job to the best of your ability.

3. A Perfect Room For an Elderly Parent

My mum is now in her later years and unfortunately is housebound. She’s quite unsteady on her feet due to a number of health issues and can be prone to falling. The fact that she lives on her own is a worry to me. I worry that she will one day fall and it may be many hours before I find out she has fallen.

Unfortunately there is not enough room in our current home for her to move in, but this is where a Hawksbeck garden room at our property would be perfect. It could be designed completely to her needs and would give my wife and I the comfort that we can check that she is ok in a matter of seconds. The perfect granny flat for my mum.

There are three different uses of a garden room. Of course there are many more uses such as renting out the room for a small income to help with the household bills, or one of your children that is now an adult who would like the comfort of being close to the family home but also wants some privacy. The uses of a garden room are actually endless and it would save you the cost of moving home if you are looking for some more room in your current home.

Do you have a garden room? I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below.
