It’s been approximately 12 weeks since we went into lockdown and started living our lives in a bubble that consisted of just our immediate family. In our case this meant my wife, my eight year old twin girls and myself spending almost 24/7 in our home or garden.

During this time of lockdown it was very important to get plenty of vitamin D and during this time we have been blessed with some beautiful sunshine. This meant getting into our garden was always a pleasure everyday. We are very fortunate to have a good sized back garden for the twins to play in and have lots of fun.
So recently when I was approached by Wickey and asked if I would like to review the Wickey Climbing Frame Multiflyer De-luxe. Well, I think it took me a nano second to say yes please! Once I showed the girls what we would be reviewing their little faces lit up like a Christmas tree, followed by when will we have it, haha! I replied soon so be patient!
Wickey are manufacturers and suppliers of wooden playhouses that have slides, swings and climbing frames and are perfect for the back garden and for children to play in so they can make and create their own games and adventures.
We had delivery of our new climbing frame on time and it was all wrapped securely on a pallet. Now all I had to do was put it together.
Assembly
Assembling the wooden playhouse was explained in a manual that was easy to understand. All the screws were labelled by size in separate packs which was very useful when it came to joining all the parts together.

First you build the two outer frames of the main wooden playhouse that make up the the platform and tower of the climbing frame multiflyer deluxe.

At this point I would say that to make the assembly go as smoothly as possible it is a good idea to enlist the help of another person. My son, the twins older brother became my helper and it was invaluable to have somebody hold the pieces of wood so they are a perfect fit while you screw in the screws.

Although I could probably have done the assembly myself it was very helpful having somebody double check the measurements and hold the main frames while you join them together, because being made of wood they are heavy and it would have been very difficult to hold it and screw at the same time. So if you can get somebody to help I would highly recommend you do. It will be an enormous help.
The assembly was very easy to follow as long as you took your time and follow the instruction manual step by step guide and try not to skip any of the steps because that will be where it will all gone go wrong.
It took about 2 hours before it started to take shape but once the main frame was together and the platform was in place, you could start to see the final result.

It comes with absolutely everything you need for assembly including a large wooden drill piece. We made the steps and the swings were very easy to fit and finally adding the roof and waterproofing the roof with a lining.
Finally adding all the accessories and fitting the slide was easily done with just two screws. It was all complete now with climbing wall, sandpit, swings and slides, a telescope and steering wheel.

We have assembled it on the grass and it was supplied to me with angle anchor posts for safety (they are not included, but can be purchased separately).
Our Wickey Climbing Frame MultiFlyer De-luxe is now complete and taking centre stage in our garden. For me the greatest test of play equipment in your home is how quickly your children start using it and if they keep playing on it for hours at a time.

This Wickey climbing frame did not disappoint. I didn’t finish it till about 4pm in the afternoon but the girls were straight out there playing pirates and other games that they called astronauts and aliens which I had no idea what that was about, but I was playing it too haha! They were going down the slide and swinging on the swings. There is also a sandpit in the base of the playhouse and the slide can convert into a water slide. In fact there was so much for them to do, I’m sure they didn’t know what to do first. They were having so much fun I had to all but drag them inside to go to bed.

The following day by 8am they were out the back garden and playing on their new climbing frame MultiFlyer de-luxe and stayed out all day using their imagination and creating all sorts of games. It’s definitely a big hit with the girls. We are now in the process of personalising our wooden playhouse for the girls and to make their very own special wooden playhouse.

Final Thoughts
The Wickey Climbing Frame MultiFlyer De-luxe is fantastic quality. Everything that was needed to build the wooden playhouse was delivered and all the wood which is pressure washed and treated and is sourced in Germany from sustainable production.

The quality of the wooden playhouse is five star and all the parts fitted exactly as they should there was no need for cutting any wood to fit together. I would highly recommend a wooden playhouse from Wickey as a way to entertain your children in the back garden. It’s totally awesome and most importantly my eight year old twin girls love it. It’s perfect in every way. It’s a must have for every back garden and just sit back and watch your children’s imagination go into overdrive.

The one I was sent for review is just one of many different styles of wooden playhouses that are available from Wickey so they will I’m sure have something to suit your garden.
It’s 10/10 for quality, fun and is a robust climbing frame, wooden playhouse, I would highly recommend you checking them out!
