Adding A Touch Of Class To Your Home With Porcelain

My wife and I have been together for twenty years and have lived in rented homes for the biggest part of that time. One of the biggest downsides of living in rented homes is in general you are not allowed to alter anything. This means that yes, it’s your home, but it never feels like yours because the truth is, it’s not.

Just over eighteen months ago we were finally in a financial position to buy our first ever home and the feeling was incredible that finally we could do what we want to our home and decorate it exactly as we want it or fit a brand new kitchen or bathroom. It’s hard to explain how wonderful that feeling is.

When we moved in we totally renovated the whole property except one room which is the kitchen. Although the kitchen needed a complete renovation we decided that other rooms were more important such as fitting a completely new bathroom and as we weren’t living there it was the ideal time to do it. We decided to make do with the kitchen and save some more money so when we decided to renovate the kitchen we could have exactly what we wanted and not cut corners because of cost.

The time has now come for the kitchen to be renovated. The kitchen is not the biggest kitchen but that doesn’t mean that it cannot be stunning and have the wow factor.

The one part of the kitchen that my wife was very insistent on was she wanted porcelain worktops which was no problem. Porcelain is a very interesting worktop surface and maybe not one you would immediately think to use, but it’s a perfect worktop as Caesarstone Australia explain to perfection and it really sparks the imagination and produces the wow factor for any kitchen no matter size. Porcelain is extremely hard, incredibly resistant to scratches, pressure, and rupture and stands up to the most demanding high-volume use that is something that we definitely need with ten year old twin girls.

Porcelain also has great resilience. It’s very resistant to high temperatures which is of course perfect for kitchens as it enables you to place hot items such as saucepans or frying pans straight on the porcelain in the knowledge that you won’t damage them.

Porcelain also comes in numerous bold colours with striking veins to create spectacular patterns and comes in either smooth or rough finishes and is very easy to care for and maintain to give you many years of use.

Now we have decided to have porcelain worktops, it was very simple to decide on the units, sink and hob.

The cupboards we have decided to have in a high gloss white finish and the sink will be a Belfast white sink. Finally our hob will be an induction unit which will match our honed porcelain worktops.

Our kitchen renovation is now well under way and hopefully will be finished in the next month or so.
