Alone On The School Playground: My Sunday Photo
Doing the school run on Friday took on a whole meaning. I think I was a little bit early to start, and found myself on the playground by myself and my only company was two school chairs.
So what do you do when there is a chair or two on the school playground and you have a 20 minute wait till your children finish school? Sit down of course and have a rest, which is exactly as I did.
What I found interesting was the strange looks I received from other parents as they arrived to collect their children. It was as if I was breaking some unwritten rule of the school playground you must stand at all times and have a pointless conservation with whoever is standing next you.
“Oh it’s cold today ”
“Yes it’s freezing”
“Cold enough for snow”
“Wouldn’t it be great if it snowed for the kids”
“No I couldn’t think of anything worse ”
“Did parents evening go ok”
“Yes and yours ”
Blah, blah, blah
The school playground conversation is the one sort of conversation that makes you brain dead in under a minute, but hey ho! You gotta be polite.
Thank goodness tomorrow it’s half-term and I don’t have to listen to all about the earthquake that hit South Wales yesterday. I was at least 70 miles from the epicentre of this massive earthquake that measured 4.8 on the Richter scale. The stories on the playground would be outrageous, and the conversation could be something that Ridley Scott could make a disaster movie out of. Just for the record I didn’t feel anything, but people nearby said their house was swaying! Really? Get a grip! Drama in South Wales, well you would have thought so if you had looked at Twitter.
So my sunday photo this week is me bucking the trend and trying to be a bit different on the school playground sitting it out until my twin girls finish school.

Oh my girls would have hated me to dab in the playground and wouldn’t speak to me for a month.
Thank you for linking up to #MySundayPhoto

Oh god, I hadn’t even thought about all the playground conversations I’m going to have to have ð« I’m not really into small talk like that, so it’s going to be fun! I might just take a page out of your book on that one!

I am always early in the mornings, not so much the afternoons. This photo made me smile.

My kids would have died a million deaths if I did this, well done you though, now you put it like that I don’t miss those school gate conversations. Thankfully it’s not a thing at secondary school. #MySundayPhoto
