Am I A Pet Sort Of Person? Well I’m About To Find Out!

January 20, 2018

Growing up I didn’t really have pets, in fact the only pet I had was a guinea pig named Georgie, but sadly my mother murdered him and left me traumatised for life when it comes to owning pets. Well possibly not quite that serious!

Anyway my guinea pig, Georgie, lived in the garage and if I’m honest he would on a regular basis escape from his hutch, as he did on this fateful day.

My mother, if memory serves me right, was rushing to get somewhere, and quickly reversed the car out of the drive and unfortunately Georgie was right under the wheel and yes, you guessed it, she squashed him all over the drive.

I was heartbroken, but a neighbour picked him up in newspaper and buried him in next doors garden. I have to admit I got my mother to dig him back up and have him buried in our back garden! So that was my only time having a pet during my childhood.

Moving on to adulthood, the next time I had any pets was before our twin girls were born, we had two cats. The one cat was lovely, but omg! The other one was a vicious animal. Anyways we made the decision to re-home them before our twin girls were born, mainly because we were living in a two bedroom flat and it simply was impractical to keep them. If I’m honest I wasn’t that bothered because the mess they made just really annoyed me. On the other hand my wife was heart broken.

Fast forward to today and the girls have been asking for a pet for quite a while and we have decided they can have a rabbit. I consider this perfect because they generally live outside, and that really suits me if I’m honest.

Oh! what a pretty bunny

So we are off to the pet shop today to see if we can find two small rabbits that the girls can call their pets, and if I’m honest they are desperate for a pet.

Sadly who is more excited?

My five year old twin girls or my wife?

100% it’s my wife!

For two days solid she has been jumping around the house like a bunny rabbit or sending me loads of bunny photos, I’m kind of guessing she is a little bit excited. Of course the twins are also excited as it will be their first pet. Here’s a selection of the photos my wife has sent me over the past two days!

This is just some of the many bunny photos i had to put up with.

So am I a pet person? Who knows, but we are about to find out!

I suppose if things don’t work out, we can always make rabbit stew for Monday’s tea.

Are you a pet person? I would love to hear.
