Our New Family Member: My Sunday Photo
Yesterday I wrote a post wondering, if I am a pet sort of a person. Well, it’s been 24 hours since the newest member of our family was brought home from the pet shop. If I’m honest it’s actually growing on me having a family pet.
We told our five year old twins on Friday night that we were going to go to the pet shop to buy a rabbit. To say they were a bit excited on Friday night at bedtime would be an understatement!
We had made some phone calls during the week and decided where we were going to go. We hadn’t told the girls, but the plan was to originally buy two rabbits aged about 2-3 months. Thank goodness we didn’t say anything though!
My wife phoned the shop at 9am only to be told the rabbits we had in mind had already gone. OMG! Panic sets in.
We hurriedly phoned around and found an alternative shop with available rabbits, needless to say we set off quickly to the shop.
On walking into the pet shop there was about five rabbits in one section and this particular one came straight over. A decision was made instantly! The girls were besotted, and I have to admit he was super cute.
We now have the newest member of our family and my five year old twin girls first ever pet, another milestone reached in their lives. A rabbit who has been named Snuggles by the girls. He is friendly and very cuddly and it’s been fun watching him settle into his new home.
So my Sunday Photo this week is Snuggles the rabbit, the newest member of our family.
Do you have family pets, I would love to hear

Welcome to the Higgins household Snuggles! Am I a pet person? Just do a search on my blog for ‘pets’ and you’ll get an answer to that question! Hope you get used to being a pet owner Nigel.

We’re considering a pet too, perhaps kittens. My wife and I grew up with cats as the family pet but our almost 3 yr old seems scared of any animal for no apparent reason. So we thought we’d try and desensitise her with cute kittens. Still thinking abt it though.

He’s lovely! I always had rabbits from childhood through to my 20s. We had many pet-free years when my kids were small, then three or four years ago we switched our allegiances to guinea pigs. I absolutely love my guinea pigs!

What a cutie, rabbits are great pets I’m sure you are all going to love him. We used to have four cats but now we are down to two and soon it will be just one as the other has a tumor. It’s not causing him too much trouble at the moment but there is no treatment for cats.

He’s absolutely gorgeous. I’m very jealous! I’d love my kids to have a rabbit but my son is edging towards a rat at the moment! #MySundayPhoto
