I am a very methodical person and I need everything to be organised which includes every part of my life.
I’m a self employed painter and decorator, and I have a small office at home. My OCD was in overdrive when I was designing my office. I needed to make sure all of my furniture at work was exactly what I wanted.
I wanted particular filing cabinets and also a desk that fitted around me with a comfy chair to do all the paperwork required, as this can takes hours at times. My desk has to be laid out in a particular order as well. If it’s cluttered my mind will be and then I find it impossible to work.
I have four year old twins and they were born prematurely and organisation was vital when they came home from hospital.
They were on a special formula milk and many medicines had to be added to the milk and this was my job to organise so I had a part of the kitchen where it was laid out for the day which I would always sort out before going to bed the night before.
Having twins they usually demand the same thing at the same time. Over the last four years I have found it’s important to organise in advance. I am always trying to think an hour ahead as to what I have to do next whether that’s their lunch or tea.
The twins are now in school and this is something that I have fine tuned. Once they get home from school I have their uniforms laid out for the morning. Their packed lunch is made and ready to go and I usually do this when their tea is cooking. I also arrange their snack as well. This reduces the amount of things have to do in the morning.
Once they wake in the morning I have a system that I never deviate from and the girls always know what’s coming next and this gets them to school on time.
Organisation for your little ones is vital. I believe kids like organisation as they know exactly where they stand and it’s a great lesson for them to learn and use later in life.
Furniture at work have produced an awesome info graphic using the characteristics of the zodiac star signs called organised mess.

Are you organised with your little ones and work? Would love to hear your thoughts.
