BlogOnXmas 2017. It Was Awesome!

September 27, 2017

I have been to my second blogging conference, yay! It was awesome! I didn’t arrive full of nerves and that terrible anxiety I felt back in May when I attended my first BlogOn Conference that had all disappeared.

It was a busy day for me that started out at dropping my son off at university in Swansea. Then a drive up to Manchester from swansea for BloxOn Xmas 2017. Thankfully there no real roadworks and it was a fairly easy drive without any hitches unlike May when I was stuck on the M6 for two hours!

Upon arriving at  Hotel Football, I initially thought I may have died and gone to heaven! It was right next door to Old Trafford! Being a lifelong Utd fan, this was pure bliss and the view from my room was the front of the stadium! What more could I ask for!

The party on the night before the conference was at Hotel Football, so I didn’t have far to go!

I met up with my very good friend Luke from The Woodhouse life and it was awesome to see him again. I met him for the first time back in May and instantly hit it off. We immediately had a joke and a laugh.

The party was great fun and meeting up with Tim liew, John Adams and Lewis Ackroyd to name a few was fab. Watching Lewis single handed pulling that barge to the side was awesome mate. I also met up with Harriet from Toby and Roo. This is the third event this year we have been to at the same time and I loved seeing Harriet again. She never fails to make me laugh!

I also met Sarah Howe from Run Jump Scrap for the first time. She was one of first bloggers I met online when I started blogging, so that was a long overdue meeting!

I also met Phil from Corporate Dad, James from A Life Just Ordinary , and Tom from Diary Of A Dad, who I have long admired. Before I knew it was midnight so off to bed!

I woke up at the unearthly hour of 6am. Isn’t it great how kids control your sleep patterns no matter what time you go to bed, not!

Anyways not to worry! Down to breakfast and off to the conference I went which started at 10.30am. The conference was spread across three floors and there were sessions going on all the time. I attended three sessions which were Zoes, John Adams and Harriets. They were all very informative and I have total respect for them for delivering great talks even when your laptop wasn’t working, Harriet! Though it was still a great session with loads of useful information.

I met up with Rebecca from becster again which was absolutely fantastic, a really lovely person. Who I’m proud to call a friend. I also met for the first time David from Potty Adventures. I been a long admirer of David’s blog and to meet him in person was awesome.

Blogging conferences can be very intimidating, especially for someone like me who doesn’t step out from behind my blog very often. BlogOn is not remotely like that. It’s friendly and everybody is always happy to chat which instantly puts you at ease. The organisation is amazing by Laura and her team so big congratulations on hosting a well oiled conference. If there were any hitches, I didn’t see them. Also well done on getting so many fantastic brands to showcase all their products. Thank you to the brands for coming along to showcase all their awesome products too!

BlogOnXmas 2017 simply was awesome. It went by far too quickly and I’m glad I didn’t miss it. I’ll definitely be there for the next one in the new year.

My fear of coming out from behind my blog is now definitely long gone and I loved every moment of the weekend.

You don’t need to be scared of coming out from behind the blog Nigel! Was great to see you. I didn’t realise you were a lifelong Man U fan. You certainly were in the correct place. Can’t wait to meet again!

I NEED to get to a conference! I wanted to go to Britmums this year, but alas, I have a wedding to go to. I will try desperately to go to the next big one everyone will go to. I too need to come out from behind the blog – as intimidating as it sounds! #bloggersbest
