Christmas Morning OMG! It 5.15am Please Sleep

December 26, 2017

I was woken up by a five year old little girl saying can we get up now please, but it’s 5.15am sweetie, just a little more sleep please!

What we didn’t know was she had already been on a reconnaissance mission to the lounge to see if Father Christmas had been!

How did we find this out? Well I shall tell you.

We have a security camera in our lounge that detects motion and at 5.15am, motion was detected, and for all of 10 seconds you can see a little girl checking if Father Christmas had eaten any of the food and drink that had been left out for him, and then generally looking around and then heading back to our bedroom to ask if she could get up. Totally hysterical!

Needless to say we were all awake within 10 seconds and collecting her sister to open their presents that Father Christmas had left in their stockings next to their bed.

What I love about Christmas morning is the speed that my five year old twin girls open their presents. It is like watching a tornado sweep through your house!

I did manage to get one picture just before they ripped all of the Christmas wrapping paper off. Two hours later we are putting the batteries in everything and setting up all the toys, for the girls to play with.

The magic of Christmas morning is really so very special. The belief in Father Christmas when it comes to five year olds I wish I could bottle it and keep it forever. The memory, well, that wonderful moment is forever with me. Seeing the happinesses in their little faces and watching them opening their presents and them finding out they have exactly what they asked for.

What more could you ask for in life? It’s really just the best feeling in the world.

Wonder did the twins ask to check the security cameras for an earlier visitor – dressed in red and white! Next year you can see that up for them and you will have true believers!
