Family And Love This Boxing Day In Our Home

December 27, 2017

I will never be super wealthy, but I don’t need to be, especially when I look around me and see who was in my home on Boxing Day.

My five wonderful children, my beautiful wife and my mum. Let’s be honest all the money in world could never buy all that love and family. It’s what completes me as a dad, husband and son.

In today’s money grabbing society, have we just lost the meaning of what’s really important in life? It’s family it’s togetherness and most importantly it’s love.

Sibling love

Many of us grew up in a loving family environment, and that’s beautiful, no doubts there, but I didn’t. My childhood was a messed up dysfunctional experience, full of so much trauma and bad memories, but it taught me a very important life lesson. If and when I had children they would never experience that sought of childhood. My mission as a dad was to give them the best memories I could. For me one of my best memories is this photo below.

Looking around the room on Boxing Day, I actually think I have achieved something very special, but by no means on my own. I couldn’t possibly take the credit. It’s family and family love, something that grows and grows.

On Boxing Day wherever I was in the house, all I could hear was laughter and chatting and this gave me an overwhelming feeling of love for my family. That all my children get on so well and can have a joke and laugh, and not a disagreement was had all day. Mind you tomorrow will probably be different, and we will be back to sibling arguments that’s for sure, haha! But for one day it was just fun and laughter.

Boxing Day taught me that love and family is far more important than all the money in the world. The love of a family is for me that life is all about.
