Creating More Space As Your Family Grows
When you buy your first home there is every likelihood that there will just be the two of you moving in. Of course that can quickly change because within a few years you may decide together to start a family.

This is when what you thought what was a home big enough for both of you becomes smaller and smaller. The last 12 months has put extra strain on living space within homes due to the covid pandemic especially with many people having to work from home. So you will be left with two choice. Either move home which many of us don’t want to do or extend your current home.
Extending your current home is something that many people are now doing more and more and one area in the home that can be easily converted into a living space is the loft. It could be converted into a bedroom or a home office or whatever your needs are.
If I was planning on converting the loft in our home then I would definitely have it converted into a master bedroom for my wife and I. Here are a few things that I would have to have in our new bedroom, but before all that starts it’s important to set out your list of priorities.
1. Finding a quality company to convert your loft.
This is without a doubt the most important first step you need to take. First thing to do is research companies that are experts in loft conversion and if possible try and get recommendations from friends or family, or make sure you find a company that has good 5 star reviews of their work and you will need a company that can build what you are visually seeing as your dream bedroom such as Simply Loft.
2. Setting a budget
This is also another very important step to take. Set your budget and stick to it. When setting out your budget keep in mind exactly what you want incorporated in your new master bedroom so that you have enough funds to cover everything you want.
3. Picking your loft converting company
Once you have decided on the company that you want to do your loft conversion, it’s important to make sure you have a detailed meeting telling them exactly what you want in your new loft bedroom and also how much your budget is so they can work to that figure and get a full cost for the entire job.

There are many things that I would like in our new proposed master bedroom in the loft, but there are a couple of things that we would want. Here are our must haves:
1. En-suite Bathroom
This is absolutely a must have. Our very own bathroom that the children can’t use. It’d be our own space preferably with a walk-in shower.
2. Plenty of light
This is also very important to us. I’d like to ensure there are plenty of windows to give as much light as possible so it’s not dark and not lit by too much electric light.
3. Built-in wardrobes
This is another important factor that our new bedroom must have. I is so that all clothes are hung up in wardrobes and the bedroom doesn’t look cluttered.
So there are my tips and what we would like in our proposed loft bedroom.
Have you converted your loft into a bedroom? What things were important that you had included in your new loft bedroom?
