Decorating a toilet using dulux bathroom + emulsion paint
I recently re-decorated a downstairs toilet and pantry.
The area is an extension to the property and has a flat roof. This consequently can cause a certain amount of condensation and also a single brick wall to the outside so I certainly had my work cut out.
The first part of the job involved the ceiling which had polystyrene tiles on it. These of course were fire resistant and had previously been painted with white emulsion. This had started to flake off so very carefully I scraped the loose parts off so as not to damage the tiles.
This part of the preparation was to seal the damp areas in Zinsser Damp Seal paint.
After all the preparation has been done I can now begin to paint.
The first area to paint is the ceilings and I paint them in Dulux brilliant white emulsion applying two coats.
For the walls I purchased Dulux bathroom and emulsion paint which I had mixed at the Dulux mix lab in the colour, Wild Primrose, applying two coats of paint.
I painted all the woodwork in Dulux once with brilliant white gloss.
The back door to the property was stained and I stained that in Sadolin extra durable stain in the colour Jacobeon Walnut.
Finally to protect the paintwork above the sink I had a plastic splash back cut and fitted it using screws. The cost of the splash back was £6.00.
Overall the effect is bright and gives a feeling of space in a small area.

I like the wild primose as a subtle colour. My hubby wants to paint somewhere yellow. This seems like a happy compromise! Thanks for linking up to #MakingHome

There is nothing more satisfying than completing redecorating a room, Primrose is the perfect colour to brighten up a small space.
