Decorating using Dulux light and space paint
I was recently employed to re-decorate a hall, landing and stairs in a detached house which is approximately 30 years old.
The area to be decorated had previously been painted in a rag effect and had an artex ceiling.
The first job was to skim the ceiling with plaster to give a smooth finish. This would take approximately two days to dry before I could paint on the first coat. The first coat should be a watered down emulsion and then two coats of Dulux pure brilliant white matt emulsion.
Then to the walls as it is a dark area the customer decided to use Dulux light and space cotton breeze. I applied two coats to all the walls.
The next area to paint was all the woodwork in leyland acrylic undercoat and gloss. A very good paint for this area as it drys quickly and is low odour.
Finally the finishing touches was the hard wood rail which I stained with Ronseal quick drying stain.
The light and space paint definitely lightens the whole area which was what we wanted to achieve.
