Converting loft space in a bungalow

My mother has recently converted the loft space in her bungalow. I was in charge of doing this for her to ensure that everything she wanted was included.
The loft was very large and very high so I knew we could fit two bedrooms in plus a shower room.
I didn’t want to change the roof-line from what it is now so the main aims I had in mind were as follows:
1. Fit two windows with VELUX blinds in each bedroom so that they are level with the roof and give lots of light. My mother wanted a light coloured blind that gave a modern look
2. Paint both bedrooms in light colours and also use paint that reflects light and gives the feeling of space
3. A shower room that can be used by both bedrooms which also includes a toilet with the possibility of including some blinds in this room too
4. It’s nice to have plenty of light, but on sunny days the windows need blinds that are easy to open and shut (see point 1)
5. Finally access to the new bedrooms via a staircase was needed and this was to be concealed in the current hallway behind a door. This was done by using a cupboard in the hallway. We took it down and built stairs inside and then concealed it behind some wood paneling with a door.
After the whole job had been completed my mum was over the moon with the extra rooms, but also that it had not altered the character of the property inside or outside.
