bored being a parent
I have five children and I have to say I have never got bored with them.
There are times when you want to escape for some me time, but the reality is that they never cease to amaze me and make me smile. They’re just great fun to be around.
I wonder how many people out there confuse boredom with exhaustion because let’s face it children are a 24/7 experience especially when they are babies or toddlers. It’s hard and sometimes you are not bored, just tired and worn out.
Having children is the most wonderful experience that as an adult we could wish for. They are growing and full of surprises and they are a constant form of entertainment! Plus if you join in their fun as well, then I have no idea how you could be bored.
There is nothing more freeing of the daily grind of your job than joining in and playing their games and basically becoming a child again. I’ve lost count how many times hide and seek has gone on for hours!
Their innocence is so infectious.
They invent their own little games which I love to watch and they want you to get involved too. I quite often end up being the voices of the dolls they are playing with!
According to a survey carried out by a child psychologist, one in five parents say their children bore them.
To me that is just a shocking figure. Why have children? That’s the thing I don’t understand.
I believe it’s important to enjoy your children and connect with them whatever their age especially when they are toddlers because that time is precious and it will disappear in a flash.

Great post! I think boredom is the wrong word. It is more patience and tiredness and have issues with. Like lying on the floor for 20 minutes whilst my daughter tries to sleep! But actually watching her is fascinating and so fun! Thanks for linking up to #bestandworst and see you soon xx
