First full week of nursery is over
The twins completed their first week of nursery and as the week went on they began to settle. R definitely settled quicker than M.
R started to talk about looking forward to going to nursery at the beginning of the week, but unfortunately M was still a little bit hesitant and she would be a little bit tearful as her mummy left her there.
To make the transition easier my wife planned different things every day, whether it be taking a picture of Goldilocks and the Three Bears in which they had been asked to colour in and also taking their snack money in to put in a tigger jar. Some really great ideas to encourage them along in happy moods.
R was actually by the third day of last week turning around and giving her mummy a wave goodbye which was fantastic that she settled.
M had finally by the fourth day started to go in a little bit happier.
Both the girls by the end of the week had started to talk a lot about nursery, what they had for a snack and generally had become more accepting that it is a new part of their lives. Quite frightening really that it had only taken eight days.
Over this weekend they have also started talking about going on Monday to nursery with a smile so I would say we are over the hard part.
On their first day back after the weekend they went in all happy and put their snack money in tigger.

ooh how exciting! I guess it much be strange hacing two kids who must inevitably be different in the way they develop, how quick they settle and how they learn as all kids are naturally different. I've never thought about twins and education before. It's something to think about.

What great ideas for helping your girls transition to nursery! It is so hard for parents and children both, but kids usually adapt quickly.

oh, those first few days at nursery can be so hard – I remember my son having to be physically removed from me when I dropped him off the first few times. it was heartbreaking. The nursery would call me up about ten minutes later to let me know how he was… and he was always fine within a minute or two of me leaving. It did get much easier after a couple of weeks. My daughter is a nursery now and we have had no problems with her at all – she loved it from the start! #busydoinglife
