Getting The Best Storage Solutions In Your Bedroom

August 23, 2017

I’m not a person that likes to live in mess. In fact, I’m sure I suffer from a mild form of OCD. Everything has to be in its place in my home, but generally speaking with five year old twins around the house that is an impossible task. We seem to be forever living in a mess!

There is one area in our home that I like organised and tidy at all times and that is our bedroom. We have built in wardrobes on two sides of the bedroom so there’s plenty of storage, but there never seems to be enough room.

This all got me thinking about how I could create even more storage space in our bedroom. Here are my three top tips for creating more storage in your bedroom.

1. We are all guilty to some extent of hoarding and I’m no different. At regular intervals it’s important to have a clear out and nowadays, I’m very harsh. If I haven’t used something for a couple of months I ask myself why am I keeping it? Time to bin it!

2. A great way to create extra storage space is to purchase a divan bed with storage underneath and this is also perfect for storing your bed linen and towels in.

3. Instead of just hanging your clothes over a chair or leaving the ironing in the corner in a basket, take five minutes to sort out everything as you go. Keeping a tidy and organised bedroom at all times.

4. Invest in diy fitted wardrobes. These make the most of the space you have in your room and also add to the space’s aesthetic. Ultimately, this is the best way to craft a space for your clothes, shoes and accessories.

To help me keep our bedroom organised I have teamed up with the online bed retailer Bed Guru, who currently have a #storageforthewin competition running to win an Ottoman Divan Base Side Bed. I’m taking part because it’s a perfect way to keep those items that are not always used, but are needed at different times. The great thing about under bed storage is during the winter you can keep your summer clothes stored away and then during the summer months keep your winter clothes stored, which will create so much more room in your wardrobe. The possibilities are endless.

So head on over to Bed Guru and enter their #storageforthewin competition to win a fabulous bed.

I like it. I’m a bit…obsessive…about things needing to be in the proper place also. My sloppy family drives me nuts
