Cooking With My Twin Girls And Little Cooks Co #ad

August 22, 2017

Today is a first on the blog as I’ll be cooking with my five year old twin girls. I have teamed up with Little Cooks Co to make carrot cake bars which are the perfect on the go breakfast or for when the kids finish school as a snack.

I love cooking with the girls because it helps them learn about how to make nice healthy snacks and it’s loads of fun too! Involving your children can also form a special bond between you.

Making the carrot cake bars is really simple it takes about 20 minutes preparation and 15-20 minutes cooking time. Most of what you need is supplied by Little Cooks Co. You just need to add carrots, almond butter and honey. It’s also good to know that all the ingredients supplied are organic.

Little Cooks Co was formed by Kate and Helen, two mum’s who are passionate about nutrition and family. Their mission is to teach kids to love cooking and eating healthy food and create happy family memories along the way. Their food testers are their children who make and test every recipe. I think this is brilliant, because we all know kids are always honest in their opinions. Little Cooks Co also believe that teaching kids to cook is one of the most important life skills we can give to them, and I couldn’t agree more.

Little Cooks Co is a subscription service which has four options. You can either have monthly cost of £7.99, 3 monthly cost of £22.99, a 6 monthly cost of £43.99 or a 12 monthly cost of £87.99. The longer you sign up for, the cheaper it becomes and it can be cancelled at anytime.

Every month a tasty new healthy snack is produced and all the dry organic ingredients you need to make it is included in the box. It’s dependent on your children’s ages as to how much they help, but my twins were involved from beginning to end in making the carrot cake bars.

It’s also good to know that any orders placed before the 21st of the month will be shipped on the 26th and you should receive your box by the 28th of the month. In the near future they will be reducing the size of the box so it fits though your letterbox.

They’re also very aware of allergies and always try to find an alternative ingredient where possible. They also do a gift box and it can be customised for the child. What a fantastic gift for a budding chef.

My five year old twins and I had loads of fun making carrot cake bars they were very tasty and it was loads of fun. The twins love getting involved with cooking and especially the eating afterwards.

The carrot cake bars are very healthy and this particular recipe is high in vitamin A and manganese. Vitamin A is crucial for healthy eyes, which helps you see in the dark and manganese is important to keep your bones strong and healthy.

I would recommend Little Cooks Co to anybody as a source of healthy eating and involving your children with cooking. They’re nutritious and you know exactly what has gone into them. They’re also great value. You can currently get your first box for £5.99 by quoting the code ‘Box1’ at the checkout.

We made a video of us making our carrot cake bars why not take a look.

Sounds great and the bars look delicious. I’m looking forward to my two being a little older and being able to join in with food prep and cooking.

This sounds like a fab company, what a great way to get kids learning about healthy foods rather than just baking cakes! Im itching to get in the kitchen with Ben when he’s older!
Thank you so much for sharing this with us at #TriumphantTales. I hope to see you back next week.

I enjoy cooking with children, that’s why I have also written a blog post on the subject
