Hendrewennol fruit picking and a picnic

August 17, 2015

Yesterday we decided it would be nice to go fruit picking with R and M and have a little picnic afterwards.

About a 30 minute drive from where we live is a pick your own fruit farm called Hendrewennol. You can pick as much fruit as you like. The selection is amazing! Strawberries, raspberries, blueberries etc.

We arrived as they opened at 10 o’clock. We had an annual pass which gained us free admission although I have to say at £1 each it’s certainly not expensive.

We all wandered down pathways in a wooded area to the various fields and we all started picking raspberries and strawberries.

The girls loved picking them and putting them in their plastic containers and then putting them in the big basket that my wife and me were holding.

We wandered over to the blueberry field and picked a lot of blueberries!

A couple of hours had gone very quickly. We then weighed and paid for our fruit.

They have a lovely picnic area where we sat to have lunch and the girls could then play with the many activities in the picnic area.

If you want somewhere to go for a few hours which is in the country then this is place is highly recommended by us! The staff were all very friendly and helpful. You can pick as much or as little fruit that you want. It’s really worth a visit and you get lovely homemade jam!

Looks like a lovely outdoor activity. I wonder if picking his own fruit might encourage my son to eat more of it! #MyFavouritePost

It looks like you all had a lot of fun. I used to go a lot when I was a kid, and I really need to introduce my girls to it. They would love it

That looks like a great day out if the weather is lovely … I'm also wondering if the Tubblet is more likely to eat the fruit if she's picked it!
