We arrived at Hollywood bowl around 10.30am and were greeted by the duty manager . We were given bowling shoes to wear, but if you wear flat shoes you don’t need to have bowling shoes.
We went to our VIP lane and was very impressed by the leather seats and the fact that you have your own assistant to help with anything you need. The lady set up our game and asked if we would like a drink which is inclusive of the VIP deal and these were brought over to us.
R and M have never been bowling before so it was going to be interesting to see how they got on.
To be honest though, they tooked to it easily! We had a bowling ramp and asked for the bumpers to be put up on the alley which helped too.
My wife or myself placed the ball at the top of the ramp and the girls seemed to really love pushing it down. Both of them actually getting a strike now and again and beating mummy and daddy!
Our first game took 30 minutes to play and actually our three old twins looked tired, but we started our second game and at one point as you can see in the picture above my wife looked very pleased with knocking down one pin!
We decided not to finish the second game as the girls were beginning to get hungry.
We walked down to Harry’s Kitchen for our lunch.
The menu had a large variety of meals. We ordered at the till and got some drinks. Luckily for the girls they had slush puppy drinks which they love!
We waited for about 15 minutes for the food to come and it looked lovely with good generous portions and it tasted fantastic. The food was freshly prepared and it was a really lovely lunchtime meal.
After we finished lunch we had a little wander around the amusement area. The twins had a go on one of the car rides which they really enjoyed.
My overall opinion of the newly refurbished Hollywood Bowl is that the staff were friendly and extremely helpful, always checking to make sure everything was ok.
The food was first class and very yummy and the service was excellent.
The refurbishment is excellent and the VIP bowling area is surberb.
The restaurant is of a very high standard. The only downside I feel is that the cost for the morning was around £80. This included two games of bowling and our meal. I think it’s a little on the expensive side, but if you’re looking for somewhere special for a birthday then Hollywood Bowl would be perfect!
We all had a great time and I would highly recommend a visit.

That looks like a great place for bowling but does seem expensive, I had my son's 5th birthday party at our bowling alley – and paid £8 more than that for 12 of them to bowl and have a meal! #busydoinglife

Bowling is such a good family activity isn't it? And I think I'd need the ramp and the bumpers up as well 🙂 #busydoing life
