JORD Watch Review and Giveaway
Watches have evolved quite drastically over the last few years. No longer are they simply just a device to tell the time by, they’re also fashion accessories. They show off our own unique style and can be conversation starters.
JORD, creators of unique wood watches, recently sent me one of their flagship Sawyer watches to review. The Sawyer watch is available in either Ebony and Ultramarine, Koa and Bronze or Zebrawood and Obsidian. I received the Ebony and Ultramarine model.
Priced at $395 this eye-catching men’s watch is certainly a piece to show off. The grounding Ebony case and the vibrant ultramarine blue make this watch both fashionable and on trend. Inspired by the sea, I have to say that this is one very cool watch that I’m eager to show off!
There’s no battery as it has a self-winding drive system with a power reserve of 40 hours. This is shown on the very top of the display. The red dial shows how many hours are left. To get the watch started you need to pull the lower of the two dials out all of the way. There are four positions in total, A, B, C and D. D is the furthest position away from the watch.
With the dial in position ‘A’ you need to unscrew the ‘crown’ (the dial) until it pops out into position ‘B’. When in this position simply wind the watch by turning the crown clockwise between 15-20 times or until the power meter is on 40.
Included with the watch is an instruction leaflet which tells you how you can also set the day and date, as well as the time. So overall the display shows you:
- Power reserve
- Day of the week
- Month
- Day
- 24 hour clock
The instructions are easy to follow and the watch was very easy to set up. Ordering online is easy too and you can even find instructions on how to measure your wrist to ensure the correct fit. However if you do need to remove a link or two it’s pretty easy to do.
The Sawyer watch is built to stand the test of time with the added benefit of an installed shock absorber device.
I have to say that I absolutely love this watch. It’s unique, it’s clever and it’s very well made. I love that it’s all made from wood which just adds to the likability factor! I’m rather fussy when it comes to things like watches. In all honestly I don’t usually wear watches, but this particular watch stands out from the crowd and makes me want to wear it! It was a real no-brainer really! It looks good, it fits well and it feels comfortable when on.
I’ve received a lot of comments on the watch when I’ve been wearing. All good, of course! It’s certainly a conversation starter!
