Living without the internet at home

January 15, 2015
A lovely bt modem that doesn’t work

We have now been without the internet at home since the 24th December. A long time in my opinion.

I have not really missed it that much, but my wife has been a bit lost without it.
I am beginning to believe that we are being duped into to the fact that we can’t live without the internet by companies that supply it.
The story is I decided to change our supplier and it seemed a good idea when it goes ok, but in this case the new supplier did not fulfill its part of the contract and cut off our existing supplier and left us without the internet.
I have 4g on my phone so I am able to access most of what I need and not use all of my data, but my wife has already had to buy extra data and will soon need to buy some more. She’s already spent £13 on an Internet bundle and will likely need to spend another £13.
So I ask the question can we live in today’s world without the internet or has it become an addiction? If so I find that quite sad.
I would love to hear what you think ?

Interesting, When we moved it took a few days to get things sorted (around a week I think) and we struggled with some things (life is easier with everything you need at your fingertips) but there was also a freeing element.
