My day when it’s me and the twins. Part 2

January 27, 2016

I spend approximately two and a half hours working as a painter/decorator which is not long on a Monday and Tuesday, but at least there are not two four year olds around my ankles!

I arrive at the nursery around 11.20am to pick R and M up and have five minutes of kid free time left. The girls come bounding out smiling and incredibly talkative. This is the moment where my afternoon of either bliss or mayhem begins!
After about 15 minutes the girls are finally strapped in their car seats. Why oh why does this simple task take so long? I’m sure it would be easier to wrestle a brown bear into submission than getting toddlers strapped in their car seats!

We arrive home and eventually I get inside the house at which point I begin to wonder who has possessed my two sweet little girls since they have been in nursery. They are manic and seemingly out of control with constant questions and demands.
I spend forever chasing and shouting them, telling them to change out of their uniforms! Then M decides she doesn’t need clothes and runs around the house starkers thinking it’s hysterical! It’s the middle of winter and freezing get some clothes on child!
Then I have a huge wave of dread overcoming me. I have to ask them what they would like for lunch and after naming numerous options I come back to the first one. A ham sandwich which was 20 minutes ago. Why didn’t they say that to begin with?!
Lunch over with and we settle in for an afternoon of fun, games and quiet time. Nah I’m kidding! It’s really an afternoon of fighting, meltdowns and whinging!

I would love to know why four year old twin sisters can’t be nice to each other and play with each other for longer than 60 seconds because ours certainly can’t!

Time just flies by! Ha ha!
Finally it’s tea-time and now I know I’m on the home run. Mummy will be home soon to give me a break.
I love R and M with all my heart, but at times children test every sense you have and unknown to them push every button you have. Or do they know exactly how to wind you up. Difficult question and with an unknown answer!
