My First Flying Lesson: My Sunday Photo
Yesterday I had my first flying lesson and sadly things didn’t quite go to plan.
As you can see from my Sunday Photo this week. Of course, I’m only joking. I’m not sure I would have walked away from this plane crash, and I probably wouldn’t be allowed to have another lesson. Haha!
We went to our local farm for a few hours as a special treat for our five year twin girls as half term comes to an end.
We have been to this particular farm quite a number of times over the years, and this plane has always been there in a field in the middle of the farm, with horses grazing and running around this crashed plane.
The question I keep meaning to ask is, did it actually crash one day on this spot or was it randomly just placed there? If it was placed there, I for the life of me can’t work out the connection between a crashed plane and a farm!
One of these days I really will have to ask, but I have feeling the truth will take away some of the magic that my imagination has built up over the years. How a pilot guided down a stricken plane to a field in a countryside, saving the lives of all the passengers.
We had a fantastic day out with the girls. As you can see we had blue skies and lots of sunshine, but it was very cold.

I’ve never heard of an abandoned plane before! Random but interesting. I think you’re right, finding out why it’s there would take the magic away

A crashed plane trumps our walk on the edge of the Surrey Hills! I think I’d have to ask Nigel. I’d love to know the story behind the plane!

It is rather random! Definitely looks from the ground around it as if it crashed there! Glad it wasn’t as a result of a lesson though.

That sure is odd! Even more so when you Google the plane’s registration number and find it ditched in the Bristol channel in 1998. At the end of the accident report, the author is also unsure how it came to be in the farm’s field. Love a bit of Googling on a Monday morning 🙂
