My wife's obsession with sewing has moved to a whole new level

June 1, 2016

A little while ago a wrote a post about my wife’s obsession with sewing knitting and baking.

The baking and knitting have been put on the back burner and sewing is at the forefront of her obsession, and I  really mean obsession! There is no controlling her desire to make soft toys and clothes for our four year old twin girls. We are slowly being taken over by elephants, superheroes, mermaids, knights and ballerinas. She even made an elephant for herself. Bless!

She’s also made dresses and shorts for the girls. In fact nothing is out of bounds. We recently brought new sunglasses for the girls and that night my wife made a pouch for their sunglasses plus one for herself. They also have pencil cases she has made for them.

Now we have moved to a new level with this obsession for sewing. A state of the art new singer sewing machine has been purchased plus a lovely, but expensive sewing box and also a unit to put all the sewing equipment in which is slowly taking over our bedroom!
I will say that our four year old twin girls are very fortunate to have a very talented and dedicated Mummy who would do absolutely for her girls. In fact just the other day she made a ballerina for M with a tutu. The girls both wanted a tutu, but it had to be made by the time they came home from nursery. They have a very special mummy who was determined not to let them down and yes you guessed it, it was all completed by the time they came home!
The big obsession with sewing which is growing daily has no bounds, and the quality of everything my wife makes is first class and to be honest could easily be sold in the shops.

As of this moment the new Sewing machine has yet to be taken out of the box and truth be known my wife is like a kid with a new toy once she has starting using it I wonder what amazing things she will make for the girls.
The obsession is starting to take control of her every waking thought. What to make next for the girls? I wouldn’t be surprised if a life sized giraffe is in the pipeline soon!
It really is lovely to see R and M’s faces light up after they see their mummy’s latest creation.
In all seriousness her talent is awesome and sewing is without a question something she was born to do. My concern is that I will be forced into the sweat shop to keep up with the demand from two little four year old twins!

Haha! I'm itching to use my new sewing machine, but I've got to cut all the fabric first! A quilt for our bed is next in the pipeline!! xx

At least she didn't sew them sunglasses and stopped at the cases. Will you be getting a new and unique range of shorts for the summer?
