One Pack Challenge (feat video)

Looking at my pack of flooring I had some ideas, but I wanted to be creative and also make something which had a use after it was made. I also wanted my four year old twin girls to be involved, so keeping that in mind I decided to make a toy box for the girls. 

First up was to decide on the size. I went for a 2ft x2ft square box and I was going to have two pieces of flooring in height, which is a good size for plenty of toys. 

Next I cut up the flooring to the required length, which was eight lengths required using a circular saw for the sides. I nailed the four sides together and created the frame for our toy box. 

Finally on the constrution side I cut three lengths to form the base and nailed it to the sides. So that is the construction of our toy box. 

Now it was time to use all of our creativity and this is where my four year old twins helped out. I wanted to make it unique to the girls. 

The first thing we did was paint their names on either end of the toy box and they loved helping with this! We also added a heart and kiss. 

The finishing touch was for the girls to add a hand and footprint to really give the toy box their stamp of approval!

The final thing to do to the toy box was to add some fabric to all the corners, top and bottom, giving it that finished look.
