PhotoBox Father’s Day Challenge & Competition

June 15, 2016
My wife loves to take photos of our twin girls, and she loves for me to take pictures of her with our twin girls. Photographing funny or special moments is a great way to cherish memories. The thing is though with me being the one taking the photos, that often means I don’t appear in many of the photos.
Recent research conducted by PhotoBox has discovered that dads aren’t in enough family pictures, mainly because they’re the ones behind the camera, taking the picture. It is for this reason that PhotoBox want to help put the focus back on dad ahead of Father’s Day this Sunday.

The reason dads prefer to stay behind the camera range from their love of gadgets to their embarrassment in front the camera. Two thirds of dad also believe that they’re better at taking pictures than mum.

PhotoBox has opened a photo studio entirely run by children, in a bid to encourage parents to feel more comfortable about letting their kids be the photographers. As such they’ve challenged me to re-create our own version of the Kids Photo Studio at home.
Our four year old twin girls chose one outfit each for me to wear. Luckily I’d recently purchased some holiday clothes and they chose some of my new t-shirts!
To create our Kids Photo Studio we simply hung a white bed sheet up on the girls toy shop. We would have ironed it first, but our twins were in such a rush to get started they didn’t give us a chance!
Of course before we got started they wanted to have their photos taken with daddy and also on their own!

Armed with my wife’s Nikon D3200 camera we got to work.

M decided I should pull a funny face whilst wearing a rather fetching pink headband and necklace!

Then I was asked by M to strike a pose!

We then swapped headbands for something more floral and M took a nice photo of me smiling.

R then asked me to remove the headband, keep the necklace on and smile!

We actually lots of fun doing this challenge and I think their photos turned out really well!

I’ll definitely let the girls take more photos of me as they were very good! This even means they can take pictures of me and their mum too!

Lovely pictures, & looks like great fun! We're the opposite here. I hate being in photos, so I am the one who takes them & he is in a lot more photos with the kids than I am! #sharewithme
