Parenthood

When I became a parent for the first time it was awesome, but then the reality of being responsible in every possible way for this defenceless little human being just blew my mind away. 

The truth of the matter is that no matter how old you are this moment in your life will ultimately define you as a human being. Some of us are instant parents as if we are born to do it, but also there are people that will not take to it instantly. They will need time to grow into the role of being a mummy or daddy. 

The challenges we face as parents are only just beginning and it’s how we face the numerous challenges that will unfold very quickly. The challenges are to be embraced and celebrated. It’s so easy to find things difficult, but like anything in life it’s only as difficult as you make it. The challenges we face are glorious and love it because your children won’t be little for long. Time flies by. 

Priorities change as of course they should. You are after all now a parent responsible for another human being, no longer can you do things on a whim. You have to plan a little more carefully, but really that’s not a hardship as you have your children to enjoy. 

Parenthood is without a doubt the best experience I have ever had in my life and I firmly believe that was the reason I was put on this earth and I love every minute of it. 

I’m not perfect as a parent and there are a few moments when I’m tested as a parent and yes I shout and tell the children off or infact fall out with the older children. The guilt I feel instantly is terrible and I have to put things right straightaway as I simply can’t be bad friends with my children. 

Parenthood is great fun and will always have its ups and downs, but enjoy them, it’s a blessing.
