Plan An Amazing Murder Mystery Night With These Snacks

Trying out a murder mystery game with your friends will be a fun way to spend a dinner party, and you can spend the evening guessing who is the killer in the room using a ton of clues and games. 

Today we want to take a look at some of the fun recipes you can make for your friends when you host a murder mystery dinner party to make the most of the night. These recipes are all simple, fun, and delicious. 

Stuffed chilli nachos 

Loved nachos? Yes please! These are ideal for a dinner party and perfect for your next big night in. 

Ingredients:

  • 500g beef mince 
  • 1 tin chopped tomatoes 
  • 2 tbsp chilli con carne spice mix 
  • 1 tin red kidney beans 
  • 1 white onion 
  • 1 large beef tomato 
  • Jalapeño slices 
  • 1 tbsp chopped coriander 
  • 1 avocado 
  • Juice of 1 lime 
  • Salt 
  • Cheddar cheese 
  • Sour cream
  • Nacho chips 
  1. To make your easy chilli, chop your onion and sweat it in a pan with oil for 5-6 minutes. Add your beef mince and cook until browned. 
  2. Add spices, tomatoes, and beans – and simmer for 20 minutes. 
  3. To make a simple salsa – chop your tomato finely and then add chopped jalapeño slices, half of your lime juice, and half of your coriander. 
  4. To make guacamole, mash up an avocado, add the rest of your lime and coriander, and season with salt. 
  5. Assemble your nachos in an oven safe dish starting with a layer of chips, then some chilli and cheese, and repeat until you reach the top. 
  6. Add extra cheese and bake for 15- 20 minutes until melted and bubbling. 
  7. Top with your salsa, guacamole, sour cream, and some jalapeño slices. 

Buffalo chicken nuggets 

These easy buffalo chicken nuggets are irresistible and they will be the perfect accompaniment to a night of spicy arguments between your suspects. 

Ingredients:

  • 4 chicken breasts, chopped into pieces 
  • 100g cornstarch 
  • Vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp salt 
  • 150ml red hot sauce 
  • 4 tbsp butter 
  • 2 tbsp honey 
  1. Heat up a pan with vegetable oil. 
  2. Add salt to your cornstarch and mix. 
  3. Add the chicken pieces and coat completely. 
  4. Add chicken to the pan and fry for 5-6 minutes until cooked through and crispy. 
  5. Set aside. 
  6. In a pan, add your sauce, butter, and honey and heat up until smooth and thickened. 
  7. Pour your sauce over the nuggets and mix well. 
  8. Serve! 

Sumptuous black cherry and chocolate tarts

These simple tarts are an amazing dessert for any party and will also give off that high class murder mystery vibe. 

Ingredients: 

  • Ready to roll shortcrust pastry 
  • Baking beans 
  • Mini tart dishes 
  • 200mp double cream 
  • 200g dark chocolate 
  • 150g black cherry jam
  1. Start by adding your pastry into the moulds and pressing down. Once done, line with baking parchment and add baking beans. Blind bake for 10 minutes at 180C. 
  2. Remove the baking beans and then bake for another 10 minutes until golden. 
  3. Heat up your cream in the microwave and pour over some chopped dark chocolate. Let it sit for 5 minutes and then whisk until thick and smooth. 
  4. In your cooled tart cases, add some cherry jam to the bottom, followed by your chocolate Ganache on top. Smooth out and chill.
