Sphero Bolt Review Ad

July 31, 2019

This is a very cool robotic toy that will have endless possibilities with your child’s education. Of course it’s not your typical robot, but it give will your child endless fun and they will learn so much about coding in the process.

The Sphero Bolt is designed simply to spark your child’s curiosity, creativity and get them inventing. It is controlled by either the Sphero Edu or Sphero Play apps direct from your smart phone or tablet.

The activities that can be had with the Sphero bolts are actually limitless. You can join the community and try out their programs or race against one another, create a maze and then find your way out and because of lighting within the Bolt you could even have a disco! It has advanced sensors that keep tabs on its speed and direction. It’s capabilities are without question limitless.

So we downloaded the app and it was very easy to use. There are many options to choose from such as coding through to free play. The girls particularly liked the drawing where they could design a pattern for the Sphero Bolt to follow and also with free play you can change the colour of the lights as you are playing it.

The Sphere Bolt moved at great speed and was very responsive to anything the girls did on the app. It was endless fun and entertainment for them, but they were also learning to code at the same time which is something they are learning at school so it was a win-win for me. Even their 20 year old brother got involved and he loved coding the Sphero Bolt. It is all controlled via Bluetooth

The Sphero Bolt is made of a durable shell. It has light sensors and automatic aiming. It also has a 2 hour playtime with an inductive charge and wireless connection.

This summer Apple have workshops at their stores up and down the country for children aged between 8-12 years old where they can take part in hands-on projects on three different subjects. There will be lots of fun filled activities to program the Sphero Bolt to change colours, complete challenges and create sounds using their coding skills.

The Sphero Bolt is a fantastic piece of kit that will teach but also entertain your children through coding. It has certainly inspired my seven year old twin girls to code and also have fun with a robot that quite honestly is awesome. I can of course be found coding myself once the girls have gone to bed! Ssh don’t tell them.

We have loved getting creative with Sphero Bolt and it will definitely become a must have activity throughout the summer holidays and beyond. check out my IGTV video below.

The Sphero Bolt is available online and in store right here at a very reasonable price of £149.99 (price correct at time of publication)

I was sent a Sphero Bolt for review, but all thoughts and opinions are 100% mine.

This is a collaborative post.

That looks ingenious, but yet another toy that requires a micro-USB charger!

Coding is becoming very popular in US schools! We had a Sphero event after school last year, and the kids loved it! #thatfridaylinky
