The Cars That Take The Top Spots For Auction Auto Sales

May 7, 2018

It’s natural to think that you’d be heading to an action to pick up a car for next to nothing. Auction sales often showcase some great cars for rock bottom prices. So, of course, this is where you’ll go to bag a bargain. But that’s not always the case. Because collections can show up to collect the top prizes that are sold for insane figures. So let’s take a look at exactly what they are and what they went for…

1. Ferrari 250 GTO Berlinetta

A few years ago, the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO Berlinetta (Chassis 3851GT) went for a whopping $38,115000. On August 14, 2014 at the Bonhams Auction House in Carmel, California, it’s safe to say that this collected got exactly what they were looking for and we’re not afraid to drop eight figures in the process.

2. Ferrari 335 S Spider Scaglietti

Next up, just a few years ago, the 1975 Ferrari 250 GTO Berlinetta (Chassis 0674) sold for $35,711,359! It was February 5, 2016 and this killer car was auctioned in Paris, France by Articurial. This sporty little number most certainly would have made one very lucky collector happy.

3. Ferrari 290 MM

Third on the list is the 1956 Ferrari 290 MM (Chassis 0626). This little beauty was sold in New York City, New York on December 10, 2015 by RM Sotheby’s for $28,050,000. Now isn’t that the perfect Christmas present if you ever saw one!
