The girls go to their first birthday party
The girls got their first invite to a friends birthday party which shows they are growing up now.
The party was held at the Heath miniature railway society which infact is not far from where we live in our hometown and to be honest I never knew it existed!
What a fantastic place! Three separate tracks, tunnels and over bridges and all run by volunteers who obviously all have a passion for trains.
The dedication they show is fantastic and they make a big effort to make sure all the children enjoy themselves.
The girls were a little bit in awe to begin with, but we said hello to everybody and and decided to go on our first train ride.
The girls appeared a little bit apprehensive, but so did daddy having never been on one before, but there was no need to worry. The girls loved it and couldn’t wait to try another train ride.
The second ride was a miniature mallard steam train and it went though a long tunnel which the girls thought was particularly good fun!
Our final ride was on a electric tram and that was good fun too!
Time now to sit down for party food and sing happy birthday to the birthday girl. The girls looked so grown up sitting there with all the other children.
These moments in their lives are to be cherished! The first time they do something and for me it’s so important to be there for these milestones in their lives.
The party was over and on the way back to the car there was a park so we stopped off to have a play for 10 minutes.
The party was brilliant fun and held at an unusual place, and what an incredible place to find in the middle of the city suburbs!
It is only open once a month, but we will definitely be making another trip there soon because the girls had such a great time.
