The twins start nursery

September 10, 2015

So the day arrived and the girls have started nursery. Hopefully all of our preparation has worked and they are ready to go. They were due to start at 9.15am todayand their usual waking time is about 7am so it was going to be a long two hours!

They seem quite excited. R definitely is but, M unfortually has a cold and is feeling a little under the weather.
We had breakfast and the girls watched some TV and then about 8.30am they started to put their uniforms on. So far all good!
We left at about 9am to arrive for 9.15am. The girls seemed nervous, but still excited about their new adventure.

We went in and were greeted by the teachers and the girls had their own pegs with their names on. M had a pink ballerina and R had a blue mermaid which they loved.

We went in and all the teachers made a fuss and made sure the girls were happy. It was interesting how quiet they were, but they are little.

R’s bottom lip did drop a little bit when it was time for us go, but amazingly she didn’t cry.

We left and once outside my wife had a little cry. It is a very emotional time so I totally understand.
I then I went to work and then my wife went home. About one and a half hours later my wife had a phone call from the nursery because M was not feeling well.
I think it’s s great effort on their first day because they have never been away from mummy and daddy so it must be a difficult thing for them at just three and half years old to deal with.

They did amazingly well – you must be so proud of them!! Like you say, they are very young still so it is difficult for both the girls and their mum and dad! Glad the teachers tried hard to settle them in. Thanks for sharing #busydoinglife
