The World Has Entered Crazy Out Of Control

There doesn’t seem to be a day that passes nowadays where something terrible and tragic has happened in the world somewhere.

In just the last few weeks we have had the Las Vegas shootings in which so many innocent people lost their lives, and countless injured. As the story unfolded it totally shocked me that one individual could carry out such an atrocious crime. It truly was beyond belief.

In Somali just the other day a bomb exploded by the taliban which killed 230+ people. Another act of violence that for me beggars belief.

On top of just these two acts of violence, the problems of Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, to name just a few of many problems around the globe continue on, and so often with no real resolution in sight.

Hollywood has had its problems in the last few weeks as well with the very powerful producer Harvey Weinstein, having to answer to allegations of rape and sexual abuse, and most likely numerous other offences that have not come out yet. Who is suffering from this abuse of power? Women, as is so often the case, it’s women being demeaned, undervalued and shown a total lack of respect. It will yet again put women on the back foot as they strive for equality. Because there is doubt that institutions like Hollywood is riddled with men just like Harvey Weinstein who will treat women as second class citizens.

My fear is simple for my five children. They are the generation that needs to change this out of control crazy world. It without a doubt particularly bothers me because four of my children are female, but I also have similar fears for my son.

There is no magic wand to put this world back on track unfortunately and I am unlikely to be alive long enough to see change in regards to women, although we must continue to fight for equality for women. We must also teach our children especially our daughters that anything is possible, and they can be anything and mean absolutely anything they want to be in life. I have taught my daughters that they are equals to everybody, men and women. Also they are not to undervalue their importance in this world. I believe it’s our generation that needs to instill belief and change so that our children can implement the changes needed in this crazy out of control world.

Of course it’s not just the appalling atrocities that the human being does against a fellow human being. We have also managed to mess up this wonderful planet of ours. The environment is a disaster and there seems to me to be not a week passes without a devastating natural disaster somewhere in the world. Resulting in massive lost of life, we cannot go on treating our planet with a total lack of respect, otherwise there simply won’t be a planet earth for our children. I believe our children are the ones that will help reverse the environment, but to do so the generation in charge need to listen to young people.

I truly believe our children are the secret to making the world better and I don’t mean putting band-aids on here, there and everywhere that the current batch of idiots running the world such as Trump do.

Our children will inherit the earth so let’s make sure it’s a world worth inheriting not a run down broken 20 year old Ford Fiesta. Let’s at least give them something to work with and hopefully improve the world for the generation that comes after them.
