Landscape designer Evo Sadosky shared with Houzz the importance of considering a sustainable landscape design. This type of landscape design should be inclusive of permeable surfaces to keep rainwater on-site and reduce runoff. Patios and driveways are both great surfaces to transform. 

“We always opt for stone patios set in decomposed granite, which allows water to be absorbed into the soil below. While most of our projects already have driveways installed, when possible, we encourage using a small stone, gravel or decomposed granite as an alternative” Sadosky says.
