When I go to and come home from work

November 10, 2015
When I leave for work it will usually takes me about 10 minutes to get out of the house. This is because we have a ritual of hugs, kisses and telling each other that we love each other and that includes my wife and I too.

I have always believed that it’s important to say those magic words, I love you, as often as possible and in our home we do.

When I come home from work it is without doubt the greatest feeling in the world. As soon as the girls hear me putting my key in the door they run as fast as they can to the door and they start shouting, “Daddy’s home!” with a big smile on their faces! What more could you ask for?! It’s brilliant and no matter what sort of day I have had it instantly puts a smile on my face.
The other thing that I notice straight away when I arrive home is that their mummy is always doing something with them. It could be crafts, playing with new sand modelling toys etc, but she’s always doing something! The girls are so lucky to have their mummy as she never tires of doing things with them.

After I have changed out of my work clothes, the girls can’t wait to show me everything they have done or anything they may have brought home from nursery.

I often think to myself how wonderful and lovely it is to be missed and then so excited to see you that only a toddler can portray. As a dad it makes you feel very loved and special.

I love this post and I do think Emily is a machine ! She should train to be a nursery nurse or teacher when the girls older. So good! Glad you have such a gorgeous, close family! Thanks for linking with #bestandworst and see you soon x

Aww…your little girls are so lucky to have you both as parents! It's so important to have these rituals of love. As I work too, the best time of the day for me is also to hear "Mummy's home!" when I open the front door. Hope to see you again #abitofeverything
