Where Can I Have My Office?
I’m a self-employed painter and decorator and have built up a successful business over the last 20 years. One consequence of this of course is that it creates a lot of paperwork and also requires a good storage area.
Over the last three years I have started a blog which also requires me having a place in our home to write and run my blog.
There was a time I could do all of this on a laptop whilst sitting on the sofa half watching the TV, but this has become increasingly more difficult especially with my five year old twin girls running around.
I live in a two bedroom bungalow so there is really nowhere that I can convert into an office space. So basically I need a solution.
After looking online for a solution I found a growing trend in garden offices. This instantly appealed to me, but I had a few reservations. I didn’t want an office type building to look out of place in our garden. Then I came across garden offices available GBC group. The selection and styles they had were perfect for what I was looking for.

I really wanted something that will fit into my garden that is not going to stick out, but blend in with my garden and what I found was a summerhouse that can be used as an office. It has double glazing which is brilliant for the winter and of course I can always put an electric heater inside to keep me warm.
This will enable me to do all my paperwork for my painting and decorating business as well as my blog writing and I can keep everything secure. I will have peace and quiet and be able to concentrate when I’m working from home.
When I was looking for a garden office I found the selection of styles huge and there is without a doubt something to suit everybody’s taste. Having a garden office is a brilliant idea especially when there is a limited space inside your home, and much less expensive than having to build an extension just to create an office, such as a ceramic Lasko.
Would you consider a garden office? If you work from home, I would love to hear your thoughts.

Wow! That looks like an amazing place to work. I love that idea. I live in a townhouse, but if I had a yard, I would be all over that. A separate place to work/write would be perfect.

My office is also the master bedroom. It used to be the nursery too but, after a bit of chopping and changing of rooms, my daughter has a room of her own now. It’s still difficult to get much done – particularly in the summer. Think I may need to get an outdoor office when we finally manage to move to a bigger house!

I’d love a garden office and if I did fulfill my dream it would be an office/sewing room. One day maybe….
