Blogging Breaks

November 2, 2016

A few weeks ago I had a very laid back approach to blogging. I needed a rest from writing, posting and scheduling new posts. It can be an all consuming hobby at times. I needed some family time.

Family
At the beginning of the year I had a target  in my mind to post 365 times. One post for every day of the year. With 71 days to go until New Years Eve I have already posted 330 times, so it would appear that I am on target to achieve posting 365 times.
I would like to think that although that is a lot of posts, I feel they’re generally all of a reasonable standard, that are engaging, entertaining and of good quality.
As I said I decided to take a little break and it has been amazing to not worry about all of the things you have to do on a daily basis as a blogger.
I have had almost a sense of freedom from my phone, being able to either just leave it in the kitchen or my pocket and not worry about social media or my inbox.
Don’t get me wrong I love blogging with a passion, but like anything in life you need a break to re-charge your batteries or to find inspiration to write that next post, not that I have ever been short of ideas to write about.
It’s just sometimes it’s worth sitting back and watching some tv in the evenings and not telling the kids to hang on a minute I need to finish this and just spending time with them.
After my little rest of course I’m back (big groan, sorry guys!) and with Christmas fast approaching it’s the busiest time of the year for bloggers!

It amazes me sometimes how often you are able to come up with new material. There are weeks I struggle to find enough interesting things to say to fill the two posts I try and get out

Wow that’s an amazing amount of posts and I really do commend you for that. I wish I could write that much. I certainly do agree with the fact that sometimes you need to take a bit of a break and kick back and have some time to yourself and with the family.
