10 reasons to have lots of children
I have mentioned before that I am a father of five children ranging in ages of 20 years of age down to three and half year old twins. Recently I have been thinking about the benefits of having lots of children. What got me thinking this? Well trying to decide whether to have another child!
So here is 10 reasons to have lots of children. Don’t take it to seriously, some of them are most definitely tongue in cheek!
1. Having five children will be useful. When I am really old there will be somebody to push my wheelchair.
2. Why wouldn’t I want to go through teething, sleepless nights and just feeling knackered 24/7 again? Wonderful times! That’s why I kept on doing it and foolish me I’m actually tempted to do it again!
3. What more could you ask for to be constantly putting your hand in your pocket for more money to constantly hear I have to have this Dad! I would really like a highly expensive pair of shoes or the latest iPhone, I must have it! I will never be rich!
4. Watching all children’s TV and DVDs and learning all words to children’s songs and knowing every character on CBeebies, and also naming a pop star or movie star from about 20 years ago and them saying who? My son was reading something on his iPad and lifted his head and said who is Dave Grohl? My heart sunk! OMG son! Nirvana? Foo Fighters? To which he replied with I’ve never heard of him!
5. Toddler tantrums are so much fun especially in public places. Why would I not want to miss out on that public meltdown where everybody is looking at you as you are a bad parent, and of course those teenage strops where your teenager decides to not talk to you for days just grunt, not sure which is worse!
Now those are funny sides of being a dad to five children. The my real reasons for being a dad to five children.
6. There is no greater feeling in the world than when your child comes into the world. I have been blessed to experience that feeling five times pure joy and happiness.
7. Watching your children learn and communicate with you. They are like sponges at the toddler stage and all this knowledge being absorbed by them is totally awesome to watch.
8. Seeing them compete at sports and wanting to do the best they can makes you very proud.
9. As they grow older and start to travel the path of life and develop the skills that will help them in adulthood.
10. The biggest part for me is to see them turn into well adjusted capable adults that can lead productive lives and respect all other people and most importantly be very happy and hopefully some of the guidance you have shown them over the years begins to pay off.

Children are wonderful, though very wearing at times, especially during those meltdowns. I have only done three times, but it must be fantastic to have 5!

Ah I love number 10. I have a step daughter who's 20 and a son who's 2 (we all live together), and my husband always says that's the thing he loves most about being a parent. Your funny reasons are hilarious. I have thought of another for you. Its so you can drag out the perk of being able to continue parking in a childrens bay and therefore close to the shops…legitimately! haha 😉 great post #MyFavouritePost

We are already skint and Jack cannot ask us for money yet as he is only 7.5mths old. He costs us a fortune already.
Love that you love having lots of children and even considering more, it really is the best job in the world but I think I'd better stop at 2, or perhaps 3 🙂 We're also thinking of adoption xx #bestandworst

haha funny post!!! I have only 2 girls and that will be it for me even though there are rare moments that I think I could have another one but then very quickly I remember all the sleepless and tantrums, etc and that thought vanishes!! LOL 😉

We only have two and it is such hard work (currently 3 and seven months!) – but there really is no greater joy/pride/wonder at watching your children grow – you are blessed to have been able to do it five times – though we're definitely stopping at two – the sleepless nights and tantrums are still too fresh in our minds! Well, I have three, so not quite as many as you, but a lot of people seem to think that qualifies as "lots" of children. Yes, there are tiring and frustrating days, but like you say, meeting your babies is the best feeling ever and as they grow and learn, I find myself bursting with more pride than I ever thought was possible.
