5 New Dad Bloggers to watch out for in 2017 

At the end of December I wrote a post called my 5 five favourite bloggers of 2016. 

I have read through the course of a year probably hundreds of posts and I’m always on the look-out for new dad bloggers. I find many new ones through my regular weekly feature, the Brilliant Dad Feature, and also through the linky I run with my wife Twin Mummy and Daddy called  That Friday Linky. So here are the 5 new Dad Bloggers I think you should watch out for this year. 

All five dad bloggers mentioned in this post have been blogging for six months or less, but once I found them, I always look forward to their next post. I’m really hoping that all five have massive success with their blogs in 2017 because I truly believe they deserve it. So if you have a few minutes to spare check out these guys, you won’t be disappointed, and don’t forget to follow them on social media. 

Here we go then:

1. First up is David, he writes a blog called Tales of two children. What I found very appealing about David’s blog is that we have very similar situations in that we are older dads with young children. One of his children spent some time in neo-natal which is also something else we have in common. Recently though he wrote a post about blogging and plagiarism which was truly outstanding. It was called common blogging topics copying or creating anew. Another great post from David which highlights the difficulty of getting established as a blogger is The newbie blogger v blogging stats, this is a fascinating read.

2. My second blogger is Tom, who blogs at The Unlikely Dad. Tom is a gay dad and he chronicles his life as an adoptive dad of a little boy with his partner. His take on parenthood is brilliant. He is writing a series of posts on adoption and it’s fascinating reading. You can read the first one here. One of my favourite posts by Tom is The Emotional Dad. A great read on how as men we are told from an early age not to show emotion. He’s been published by the Huff Post and made the front page. I’m sure we are going to see a lot of Tom in 2017.

3. Number three is Andrew who blogs at Maddadskillz what I love about Andrew’s writing is he can be incredibly funny if you read mummy guilt to do stuff or get stuff done although funny it’s actually very thought provoking. Andrew is at ease writing about more serious matters as he did with talking about death with your child  which is a fantastic post on an incredibly difficult issue. Andrew’s ability as a writer is amazing gets me thinking or laughing every time.

4. My fourth dad blogger is Jeff who blogs at drooling daddy. He’s from Canada and I only in the last few months found his blog. Jeff’s posts have a passion about them and that passion is his family. Every post I read shows the love he has for his children. I see enormous similarities between our writing. Two posts that I loved from Jeff are my daughter and drinking. This exact same thing happened to my daughter and it totally resonated with me. Another great post is the little things a dad does, like toy building. It’s a truly wonderful post about love for his children. Check out Jeff’s blog.

 
5. Finally my fifth blogger is Danny who blogs at how to daddoo. Danny’s blog is all about everyday life raising small children and I love the way Danny’s humour in his writing shows us the simple things that children bring to our lives and how brilliantly Danny brings all that to life in his posts. I have a couple of favourite posts, but I particularly loved this one mainly because I remember doing this when our twins were babies, How to Telly CBeebies or  Sky Sports. It’s a fantastic read.

The other post is a very recent one on them expecting a new baby, we’re pregnant again, a truly beautiful post. Danny is I’m sure going to go from strength to strength throughout 2017.

That’s it guys. My 5 new dad bloggers to watch out for in 2017. All very different writers, but all have one thing in common, they are brilliant, engaging, writers and a passion for blogging and fantastic dads which I’m sure will take them a long way.
