Skateboards

Active Kids Xmas Wishlist

November 25, 2016

Our twin girls will be turning five years old early next year and they are very active. They particularly like outdoor activities.

From climbing trees to running around the park, to splashing in the river with their wellies on and playing football! They love to get outdoors and get active.

One of the outdoor pursuits that my twin girls really love doing is a trip to our local skate park. I recently found a fantastic website online called Skate Hut to kit them out, so here are a few suggestions to keep them safe whilst learning to skateboard.

My twins have very different tastes and colour is very important to them both. One definitely likes pink, whereas the other prefers blue. Thank goodness skateboards and accessories come in different colours!

This is the Penny pastel and blue/red complete skateboard which I think would be perfect for our girls with their different tastes in colour.

Of course being a skateboarder you are not complete without your rucksack, and the Penny Pouch Pastel and the Heeleys bandit backpack are a perfect accessory for their skateboards.

Another of the most important aspects of skateboarding is safety, and in the early days of learning. They are going to have their fair share of falls. To keep them safe they’ll need knee pads, elbow pads and gloves. These are vital for their protection. Here are some examples of ones that we like.

As you can see there is so much choice available online for boys and girls which I think is great. A lot of people think that activities such as skateboarding are just for boys, but clearly it’s not and girls can enjoy it too. I really like that for the more girly girl they have pink knee pads, but they also have a range of colours for girls who don’t like pink.

What outdoor activities do your children enjoy? I’d love to know!
