Are you a city slicker or a sun seeker?

August 25, 2015

My wife and I have been lucky enough to have experienced quite a few holidays together.

Destinations such as Prague, Rome, Marrakech, Barcelona and Valencia have given us some pretty memorable experiences.

From eating ice cream whilst sat by the Fontana De Trevi in Rome to watching to my wife hold a snake in Marrakech!

When it comes to holidays we usually opt for the city. We love exploring and finding new places.

In Barcelona we got the chance to go inside Camp Nou which has been the football home of Barcelona since 1957. We wandered around the dressing rooms and even stood pitch-side.

I think it’s fair to say that our holidays pre-children were all about exploring cities!

Fast forward a few years and our holidays are now all about the beach! You see since becoming parents to twin girls we’ve had to compromise on our holidays. I can’t imagine a three and a half year old being fascinated by the Vatican for example, but the beach is always a sure fire way to keep kids entertained for hours!

Holiday Gems have a new hub which is all about Beach Vs City. You can click on the beach side to explore a number of different beaches in various countries such as the Dominican Republic, Costa Del Sol, Dubai and a recent favourite of ours, Menorca!

We went to Menorca two years ago and returned again earlier this year so I’d highly recommend it!

If you’re more of a city slicker you can click the City side to explore some fascinating cities. Budapest, Florence, Lisbon, New York and a few more too!

I know my wife would love to go to New York! From shopping to broadway she’d be right at home there!

I don’t mind the beach holidays though. It gives us a chance to sit down and relax in the sun whilst watching our twins build sand castles and run around in the sea!

What type of holiday do you like? Beach or City?

City! I find beach holidays boring, but others love them and that's okay :).
