Bored with Blogging

October 5, 2015

For the past few weeks blogging has become a real chore for me which has never happened before. Maybe it’s the one year blues because I have been blogging for a year now.

I know I am not the first person to write a post li
ke this and most likely won’t be the last, but the truth is it all became too much. Everyday tweeting, being active on Facebook etc to get your post out there to be hopefully read. Then not rise very high in the Tots100 when I felt I was writing good content and not being noticed.
My post writing was becoming more  difficult. I had days of mental block and unlike some bloggers who read posts to get ideas I never do. I have always thought if it’s not in my head I am not going to copy.
I never started blogging to make money or gain freebies and I will only accept sponsored work that’s in keeping with my blog.

I started blogging to document my life, my marriage, my children and my job as a painter/decorator and this was a great way to keep it forever for my family to read what I was thinking and doing.
On many occasions in the last few weeks I have threatened in my my mind to stop blogging. To have my phone surgically removed from my left hand, but something kept stopping me.

I know now what that is simply I love writing my feelings down. What I am doing in my life how all my children are doing and telling my wife how much I love her.

Tricky one really and one many can identify with. I've had some blogging struggles recently but mine has been because of the pressures of real life. Many say it helps to take time away from the 'be always there' pressure of blogging; the forever striving and never reaching feeling when it comes to the rankings and traffic.

At the end of the end, we remind ourselves why we write and I think many times that keeps us writing on our terms despite the pressures. All the best as you move on. #FacebookGp

If you enjoy writing then that's all you need to keep going. Who cares about scores on the doors? I'm sure those who organise it would be sad to hear you'd stopped blogging just because your Tots score didn't go up this month.
Ignore that, and concentrate on writing what you want, from the heart, and you'll be fine.

    Best wishes.
