Celebrating A Century Of Brilliant Dad Feature’s Tomorrow 

The Brilliant Dad Feature is 100 weeks old tomorrow. I never for one minute thought that when I started it, it would still be going 100 weeks later, but here we are!

I remember clearly when I thought up this idea for a weekly feature on my blog, that if I got 20 dads to take part that would be awesome. The fact that there have been 100, with many more to come is just so hard to believe!

When I decided on the questions I knew I didn’t want too many. Just questions that would hopefully make dads think about their roles as a parent, and how they felt on becoming a dad.

One thing that has amazed me has been that one answer is not remotely the same. Everybody has a different angle on being a dad. I have been lucky to have dads take part from all over the world. I have had dads featured from all different backgrounds and of all ages with children at different stages of their lives.

All the dads that have featured are just ordinary dads doing their very best for their children. Some of the brilliant dad features have made me laugh a lot, but also I have cried at some of the stories I have read, not one feature has been the same. The honesty has amazed me in replying to the questions.

Every week I read and edit each feature and if in many cases the dad is also a blogger it will hopefully highlight their blog and in particular get some exposure for new dad bloggers, which has been one of my aims behind the feature.

I can’t thank enough the last 99 dads that have taken part and given up their time to write the answers. I will be eternally grateful for your generosity towards the Brilliant Dad Feature.

So we are at number 100. This was a difficult decision because I had numerous celebrities queuing up to take part, haha! I don’t know any celebrities and if I’m honest the feature is not about famous dads it’s about ordinary dads like me that love being a dad with all its joys, trials and tribulations.

After thinking about who should be number 100 I was never really sure whether  to just carry on with the list I already have, but after talking to a dad who is also a close blogger friend, and then a lengthy conversation with my wife and also a couple of conversations on Twitter with some other dad bloggers, all were mostly suggesting it should be me as I have never done it. It seemed to me that I should answer the questions that I set out for lots of other dads .So I hope nobody is disappointed by my answers which you can read tomorrow. I must confess I thought they were quite easy questions, that is until I tried to answer them myself. Haha!
