He loves to write and is currently working on his first book which he intends to finish this year and have it published in 2017. He blogs at Becoming a dad at 40. Thank you very to Gary for taking part.
1. Have you always wanted to be a dad?
When I was a younger man my priority was always my career, that is until I realised it was not the be all end all of life. Then I met my wife and realised I really wanted a family.
2. How did you feel when your children were born?
I was very overcome with many emotions the biggest thought was my heart was going to burst with love for my children.
3. What have been the most rewarding experiences as a dad so far?
To many to mention but I think for me is when both my children put their arms around my neck and say I love you daddy without being asked just doing because they want to.
4. What are some of the funniest moments to have happened to you as a dad?
There are so many but the first one I remember is my son deciding to poo in the bathtub, when we were potty training.
Another one is my daughter putting her hand on her forehead and walking away from me saying,I need some me time Daddy.
5. Have there been any situations with your children that you have found difficult to cope with?
I have three and four year old children and it’s without a doubt toddler tantrums.
6. What are your hopes and dreams for your children?
I hope they grow up to be responsible adults with the capacity to love and be well balanced knowing exactly what they want in life.
