Brilliant dad feature week 60
This week our brilliant dad feature is Lawrence from the UK who blogs at Tired Daddy. His blog is a day by day account of the first year of parenthood, written by a new dad who has a lot of opinions about a lot of things, but not much of a clue what he is actually doing most of the time!
Regular features include baby record and film reviews, curated playlists for babies (i.e. Beatles for Babies, Nirvana for Babies) and lots of lists of useful tips and hints for new parents.

1. Have you always wanted to be a dad?
Yes, although I didn’t want to have kids living in London so we waited untill we had moved to the provinces.
2. How did you feel when your children were born?
Exhausted! The birth process was harrowing and upsetting to say the least I have blogged about that in the past, and will do again I would think. However, since our little man arrived every single day has been fantastic, aside from the obvious sleep deprivation, poo explosions, pee fountains and pukey surprises!
3. What have been your most rewarding experiances so far as a dad?
As my son is only a month old at the time of me writing this, I would say the most rewarding experience is. When I was able to successfully change his nappy without either spillage, mess, or him turning into an inconsolable ball of distressed rage, I’m sure more rewarding experiences will follow over the months to come though.
4. What are some of funniest moments to have happened to you as a dad?
I think the funniest moments are probably also poo related, apologies for the scatological nature of my answers so far, but this is his main hobby aside from feeding and sleeping. Probably top of the list would be the time we got through 4 nappies in one change as it just kept coming out, all over my hands, my shirt, the walls etc, maybe you had to be there!
5. Have there been any situations with your children that you have found difficult to cope with?
Sleepless nights, inconsolable crying, the fact that he keeps growing out of every item of clothing we buy him.
6. What are your dreams and hopes for your children?
To be honest, we just want him to be happy. I know that is very cheesy, but we are not pressuring parents, and hope that he will grow up to feel free to do whatever he wants to make himself happy. That and he must play guitar in a rock band, and support Liverpool and ideally not be a mathematician!
