Parents evening Part 1
Parents evening for our four year old twins is fast approaching and it’s definitely a surreal experience. It doesn’t seem like yesterday they were babies and now they’re in nursery.
This is the thing though, parents evening for nursery. I remember my older childrens first parents evening, but that was the first year of primary school not nursery.
Is it new now to have nursery parents evening? After all I thought nursery was about play and learning some social skills so what else will I learn about the girls. Eeek goodness knows!
It’s going to be very interesting what the teachers will have to say about the girls, after all they have only been in nursery approximately six months. Although I believe the girls behave very differently when either their mum or myself are not around. I’m sure amongst their peers they are very different children.
M is without question more outgoing and I guess has a lot of friends in nursery and it will be interesting to know if she bothers much with R, whereas R is more reserved and I would think has less friends and at times probably relies on M for a bit of security.
There are many questions I have because they are saying lots of different things about their time in nursery or as it happens very little. They are both counting well and have started to write a very small amount, because I have never been to a nursery school parents evening so I can’t wait to find out what they have been up to in the last 7 months.
Hopefully I will get to hear that they are well behaved, good mannered and play and interact with the other children, probably couldn’t ask for anymore.
To be continued after we have been to parents evening!

Certainly not something we have here in Ireland. First parents evening is in Primary school.
I'm sure the girls will have glowing reports Nige.
