Do you share the responsibilities in your home?
My wife and I share all the responsibility for getting things done in our home.
Surely we have now left the 1950’s where the woman runs the home and the man earns the money?
I cannot believe that there are homes like that anymore, but sadly there are.
This is so wrong. Women are working in much better jobs than a lot of men today and yet there are men out there that continue to undervalue women. Women are our equals and better in lots of cases.
In our home my wife works two days a week and during that time I stay home one day a week with our girls. I see nothing wrong in having her tea ready when she gets home from work.
We share everything whether it’s washing the clothes or hoovering because simply I believe it should be this way if it needs doing one of us does it.
I don’t understand men who believe that tea should be on the table when they get home from work. Possibly it’s a parental teaching that they saw their parents do it and it’s the way it should be or a lot of men have not had the umbilical cord cut and treat their wives as replacement mothers. I firmly believe this is going on. Women are not men’s slaves and shouldn’t be treated as such.
Thankfully I am in an equal relationship where we respect each other as people and neither of us is in charge. We always make joint decisions for the best of our family. I have taught my children that it doesn’t matter whether you are male or female, we are equals.

We share things in our house, tho' my husband does do the majority at the moment as I'm the one going out to work & he's based at home. We each have our different strengths at home, he's a brilliant with the hoover and making the beds & I'm better at polishing/dusting & cleaning the bathroom!!

Yes we share responsibilities here as well. In fact we're sharing the maternity leave and I'll be going back to work after 3 months with him taking the remainder. I'm the higher earner so makes sense.

Another great post. You guys are the same as us; we share everything. In fact my hubby does all the cooking and I do more cleaning up. It's a much better way to be and I'm sure your relationship is stronger for it xx #binkylinky

I completely agree – we are equals and take equal responsibility around the house and with parenting. I wouldn't have it any other way 🙂

Totally agree with this.
My partner will cook, hes good at that. But the rest of the housework he is just too lazy! He will do the dishes now and then or if I ask him to do it before bed. But the hovering, mopping, cleaning, tidying, dusting, washing, keep clothes etc that's all me! x

This is a great post – it's very refreshing to hear this view from a man. It really annoys me when both partners work full time and the woman is still expected to do everything in the home. Thanks for hosting the #binkylinky

Great post. Even though I am at home all day with M and Hubby is at work, we share all the jobs and responsibilities equally. I couldn't cope with just doing it myself!! #binkylinky

I completely agree and one of the reasons my relationship broke down was because the responsibility was not shared and it is tiring even if you have the children and are at home all day or if you are at work, one of the hardest parts in a relationship are when the kids are little so if you don't pull together it doesn't work – Im glad you and Emily have a shared relationship it makes for a stronger relationship! #binkyLinky

Excellent points! We share, I cook normally, but sometimes my OH does too and he does the dishes. We both tidy up and my husband puts all the recycling and bins out. I do most of the hoovering and dusting and bathrooms as my OH never seems to realise it needs to be done! 🙂

We share mainly, though our views on 'acceptable' mess differ somewhat! 🙂 #justanotherlinky

Great post as usual. We share everything, apart from anything else it’s the quickest way to get things done.
However I do work with someone who split things into blue jobs and pink jobs
