In order to get stronger and fitter, working out is essential. For those of us who suffer with any type of chronic condition, that may be a little tougher to manage, but it’s important to remember that any movement is good movement. The first step is getting active in some way and building that muscle content. During lockdown, gyms have been closed but there is nothing to stop you from doing these exercises at home and enjoying your time off (if you’re not working), by getting fit in the process. Some of the best exercises to help keep your muscles fit and tone them is:

  1. Lifting weights.
  2. Working with resistance bands.
  3. Heavy gardening, such as digging and shovelling.
  4. Climbing stairs.
  5. Hill walking.
  6. Cycling.
  7. Dancing.
  8. Push-ups, sit-ups and squats.

These may not be easy for everyone but you can adapt any exercise to make it work for you. Walking is always going to be a great way to get moving and especially if it’s on an incline, you can get a great cardio workout in too.

Adding extras to my diet

Fruits provide a natural source of carbohydrates along with a good amount of vitamins and minerals. For higher-calorie fruits, choose bananas, pineapple, or dried fruits too, such as raisins or dried cranberries. These will all be helpful. Protein is great for muscle growth so looking at protein rich foods is going to help your muscles. Foods such as:

  • Lean meat
  • Poultry
  • Fish
  • Eggs
  • Tofu
  • Nuts
  • Beans

You may also want to look at supplements. If your muscles have been suffering lately, perhaps it’s due to overworking, or underworking. Your muscles can get fatigued by doing nothing and by poor posture so sometimes they need a way to recover. You could look at an organic muscle recovery supplement, for your well being and to assist your muscles. Cbd is known to ease inflammation, reduce muscle spasms, as well as relieve pain. It can be a good thing to add to your diet and does not have any side effects. If you have an active lifestyle or a less active lifestyle, cbd will be able to assist you, even if it’s with anxiety or other types of conditions, such as diabetes or heart disease.
Your major goal is to ensure that you are getting at least an hour of exercise a day, even if it is just a short walk. Your muscles are prone to seizing up and getting stiff and sore when you don’t use them, it can also relate back to cramps and poor circulation. If you suffer with cold hands and feet, then exercising more will really help that blood flow so you can combat these feelings. It’s important to keep fit during these difficult times, as more of us are staying home and not able to go out for the exercise we usually would. Don’t let fatigue hold you back, whilst it’s a very common ailment, it isn’t one that you should be putting up with.
