I did it ! I took the twins to a birthday party on my own woohoo!
Last Saturday my wife went on a spa day with her friends, as they’d bought it for her, for her birthday back in January.
This meant I was left on my own with our twin girls, R and M. OMG! No, not really! Actually it was good timing because I was able to wrap all the presents and write the mothers days cards with the girls and we also we took a trip to supermarket to buy a bunch of flowers for their mummy.
Anyway, the girls had a birthday party the same day so it was left to me to take them. The party started at 2pm and things were going really well, but I decided to take a photo of them in the car before departing for the party and then I thought I would post the photo on Instagram and Facebook. Bad move! I looked at the time and it was 15 minutes before the party starts and I needed to get half way across the city in that time.
Should my wife have trusted me to do this on my own?! To get girls to their friends party on time, looking very doubtful.
So, off we go and the traffic wasn’t looking too bad. Thankfully, we arrived with two minutes to spare.
We all went into the party and were actually one of first to arrive so all looking good! We settled into our seats and started to be entertained by a lady with lots of party games. R and M were a little shy to start, but started to join in and were having a fab time.
2.15pm my phone rang. It was my wife. She had just arrived home and was surprised to see her bunch of flowers and said thank you. Then she said she was contemplating coming up to the party. Keeping in mind that it finishes in an hour and my wife’s sense of direction, even with satnav, is useless!
But she’s on her way! This is where I think should I be offended. That she doesn’t trust me to be at a party with the girls on my own, but that’s not the case. Not in the slightest! We are a family and we always do everything together and if I’m honest it felt strange my wife not being there. Big Aww!
My wife arrived at about 3.10pm and enjoyed what was left of the party. The girls I have to admit were very pleased and excited to see their mummy.
Great time had by all and I managed to get the girls to their friends birthday party on time. Woohoo!
